Thanks to his performances, Sharma has made heads turn and take notice of the potential he has. But his inconsistency at the highest level has cost him a few golden opportunities.
Also consistent performances by his peers like Suresh Raina, Virat Koli and Murali Vijay has
doubled his task. But Sharma is prepared to put in the hard hours. During Mumbai's training session yesterday, Sharma looked completely focussed.
"I want to do justice to my potential. Ranji Trophy is a solid platform. I hope to make full use of it," Sharma, who scored 93 and 74 not out in Mumbai's opener against Saurashtra, said.
Speaking about the emergence of Raina and Cheteshwar Pujara in Test cricket, Sharma said: "Oh, they have been performing really well. They have a style of their own and I have my style.
So, I am not worried about that aspect. I am simply focussing on my game. But definitely, Suresh and Cheteshwar are playing well. I congratulate them."
