R Madhavan-starrer 'Saala Khadoos', which is set to hit theatres this week, is headed South, courtesy Daggubati Venkatesh. If the latest buzz is to be believed, the Telugu superstar has acquired the film’s remake rights.

Says a source, "Venkatesh and a few other celebs recently caught a special preview of the film in Hyderabad. Soon after, he called the maker, Rajkumar Hirani and told him that he would love to remake the project in Telugu. Hirani agreed to the proposal."

We hear, the actor will essay Maddy's role while Ritika and director Sudha Kongara will be retained for the Telugu version.
Hirani confirms the news and says, "Such things strengthen my belief in feel-good films."
