A new survey has found that a third of all Premier League fans are women.
It found that they make up almost a quarter of the supporters who actually attend the top-flight matches.
Figures released by Sports marketing company Sport plus Markt revealed that almost 1.5 billion people follow the Premier League globally and 615 million have a favourite club.
Viewing figures reached 4.7 billion for English matches on television last season.
China has the most Premier League followers of any country at more than 300m, followed by India at 147m.
"The data reaffirms that the league is the world's most watched," the Mirror quoted a Premier League spokes-man as saying.
