Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya was reportedly involved in a minor accident on Tuesday after her car hit an auto rickshaw and injured the driver in Chennai's Alwarpet area.

According to reports, the injured driver threatened to file a police complaint against Soundarya. However, Soundarya's brother-in-law and actor Dhanush rushed to the spot and intervened in the matter.
Apparently, no police report was filed in the incident after Dhanush's intervention.
The driver has reportedly been assured medical help and repairs to his vehicle.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Soundarya is directing 'VIP 2' starring Dhanush and Kajol. 'VIP 2', a sequel to Velraj's 2014 Tamil film of the same name, marks Kajol's return to Tamil cinema after around two decades. She had featured in Rajiv Menon's 'Minsara Kanavu' in 1997.

In December, Soundarya filed a divorce petition in a family court in Chennai. Soundarya and Ashwin Ramkumar tied the knot at a grand wedding ceremony in 2010 which was attended by the who's who of the film, politics, and business world. They have a one-year-old son, Ved.
