"The Asia Cup has always been hit by politics and other issues and has not been held regularly as planned. But it must be held after every two years as it helps the South Asian nations closer," he said.

"It is a regional event and if it is held regularly it will help remove differences among member countries particularly Pakistan and India," he said.
Moin said despite the packed international calendar, the member countries must encourage and support the Asian Cricket Club to hold the event after every two years.
"They must also bring in two associate nations and funds should be used to develop and promote the sports in Asia . Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh can play their part in helping the other nations take to the game properly in the region," he said.
Moin said the Asia Cup can also increase the unity among the Asian cricket playing nations.
Moin praised the performance of the Indian team in the Asia Cup and termed its organisation in Dambulla a success.
"India proved itself to be the best team under pressure in the event. Sri Lanka looked the best but the Indians came good when it mattered the most and this is the sign of a good team," he said.
Moin also had praise Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni leading the team with "composure and calmness". "Being a wicketkeeper is a big advantage to Dhoni, I have captained Pakistan and I know that being a wicketkeeper gives you a clear view of everything happening on the field. I have always felt wicketkeepers make good captains," he said.
Moin said India have some good young players in Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Virat Kohli.
"These players are a good investment for the future of Indian cricket and particularly for the 2011 World Cup but some of them seriously need to work out their problems against the fast shot pitched deliveries, they have struggled against bouncers for a while now," he noted.
