Road rage leads to molestation case against MTV VJ
In a case of road rage leading to a molestation charge, a 29-year-old model and actor has filed an FIR against a popular reality show winner and MTV VJ.
According to her complaint filed with the Oshiwara police, model Moon Das was on her way home when the driver of the car ahead of her suddenly hit the brakes in Lokhandwala. Das’ SUV rammed into the car and she got down to apologise.
The driver of the other car turned out to be Splitsvilla 2 winner and MTV VJ Siddharth Bhardwaj, who allegedly began to push Das and abuse her in front of passers by. After this went on for sometime. Bhardwaj told her that she should pay R30,000 for his car’s repairs or he would keep abusing her on the road.
Das’ complaint states that Bhardwaj pushed and molested her publicly and threatened to tear her clothes if she did not pay R30,000 for the repairs.
He subsequently threatened her with dire consequence if she failed to pay the amount. Das said that she went straight to the police station and filed the case.
“How can anyone molest a woman over an accident? Siddharth was abusing me continuously. He was driving the car and the accident took place because of his mistake. I was too scared after the incident because of the way Siddharth was abusing and pushing me. It was horrifying,” said Moon.
An Oshiwara police official said, “A case under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (Criminal intimidation) of the IPC. We are looking for Bhardwaj and he will be arrested soon.”
This is not the first time model Moon Das has hit the headlines. In November 2007, her spurned lover, Avinash Patnaik, allegedly took revenge by killing her mother and uncle, before turning the gun on himself.
Bhardwaj is a well-known face and he had also managed to reach Bigg Boss Season 5’s Grand Finale, and was declared the second runner-up.
