Cuban actress Maria Conchita Alonso has termed veteran star Sean Penn a "communist".
The former co-stars were recently spotted screaming at each other at the Los Angeles International Airport.
Alonso revealed in a radio interview to WMAL: "I said, 'You are a communist, Sean Penn.' He said, 'You are a pig!' So I said, 'And you are a communist a*****e! Is it great to live the way you do as a communist?'"
However, the actress has said she wants to apologize "for calling Sean Penn an a*****e as he is an intelligent man". But she doesn't regret calling him a communist, reports usmagazine.com.
"But if someone calls me a pig, I am not going to turn the other cheek. But I don't regret calling him a communist," she said.
In 2010, the 54-year-old actress, who worked with Penn in 1988 film "Colors", wrote an open letter slamming Penn for his support to socialist Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez. Penn, 51 had praised Chavez for his help in Haiti.
