What’s in store for the audience this time?
For the spring collection, I’m sticking to classic pastel shades with a few brighter tones such as coral and aqua as they are very ’70s. In terms of embroideries, I was inspired by the ’70s fashion icon Ali Mcgraw. She was stylish and glamorous in that decade.
What makes Sonam Kapoor, your campaign model, a style diva?
Sonam has created a certain awareness of style in the industry. She is always experimenting with various looks. The first dress I created was for her. Her originality and the impeccable way she carries herself is inspirational. That is true style.
If you could design a dress for somebody from the past, who would it be?
It would be for Ali Mcgraw, as she is my inspiration for this season and she also created her own identity. This made her a true icon and every design of my current collection is what I’d have loved to see her in. Also Audrey Hepburn because of her grace, her immense knowledge of style and her simplicity.
