Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram, who was one of the commentators for the India-Australia Test series here, felt the hosts thoroughly deserved the 4-0 series result yesterday against the visitors
“India have taken sweet revenge against Australia. I was there when India lost 0-4 Down Under, so I’m glad to see them come back, work hard and sort their problems out. This is a spirited Indian team,” Akram told MiD DAY yesterday after Mahendra Singh Dhoni & Co beat Australia by six wickets on Day Three of the fourth Test at Feroz Shah Kotla.u00a0

Akram lauded the Indians for their dominant show and team work. “It’s interesting to note that there were four candidates for the Man of the Series — Dhoni, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin — and all were from India. Ashwin eventually won it, but this just goes to show that India dominated this series throughout and rightly deserve this win. However, I was quite surprised to see a team like Australia not fight back in any of the four Tests,” he added.u00a0
