S Sreesanth and his wife Bhuvaneshwari Kumari did not take their 45-day-old daughter to New Delhi on Saturday where the 32-year-old pacer's fate was decided by a court in the spot fixing case. However, after the court dropped all charges against the bowler, the duo could not wait to get back to their Kochi house to embrace their "lucky daughter".

"Only my wife came to Delhi with me on the day of the hearing. I didn't want people to glare at my daughter and say 'the daughter of accused Sreesanth,'" the right-arm fast bowler said minutes after landing at Kochi Airport yesterday. "The co-passengers in the plane and people at the airport hugged and congratulated me. It was a great experience," he added.

"I had booked my ticket for the afternoon flight on Sunday but after mid-night changed my travel plan and booked tickets for the 6:30 am flight from Delhi to Kochi. "We wanted to reach home as fast as we can to greet our daughter," Sreesanth said.

"Her naming ceremony is on August 19th. At present, we call her by her nickname 'Sreekutty'. The same name is not likely to be permanent after 19th August but we are trying to search a name which bears a good meaning in Malayalam and Rajasthani languages," he added.

In December 2013, Sreesanth married his girlfriend Bhuvneshwari of Jaipur's Shekhawat family. Despite the charges against him being dropped, Sreesanth is in no hurry to make a comeback to the Indian team.

"I have waited so long for this verdict. I will not hurry till the Indian cricket board decides to change its stance. I will start with a small private academy and will try to cement my place in the Ranji Trophy team and then think of getting into the Indian side," he signed off.
