At the launch of Deedara Aka Dara Singh, a book based on Dara Singh's life, written by Seema Sonik Alimchand, Akshay said: "If Vindoo (Dara Singh's son) requests me, I would like to play the role of Dara Singh in his biopic."
Akshay, who is fit as a fiddle at 49, also spoke about the kind of preparation he might have to go through to portray the role.
"Dara Singh was a huge man and I have to justify his appearance. I need at least two years to put on that kind of bulk and look like a wrestler," he said.
About the legendary wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, who passed away in 2012, Akshay said: "Once, Dara Singh saab came for an inauguration. Somehow, I managed to get three tickets and I went there with my sister and father, who was also a wrestler.
