Still have a lot of cricket left in me: Bhajji

“My aim is to play as much cricket as possible and so I inked the deal with Essex. Since Essex are also not doing that well, they wanted my services and I also wanted to be among cricketers,” Harbhajan told Sunday MiD DAY from Jalandhar.

Citing Pragyan Ojha’s example, the offie said that county performances are always noticed by the selectors and that is the reason why he chose to play. “For instance, Pragyan was not a regular in the India team, but after his good performance for Surrey last season, he staged a comeback in national side. I also want to use my county stint in a similar way,” Harbhajan said.

As far as a comeback is concerned, the Turbunator is taking inspiration from former India captain Sourav Ganguly. “Dada made some brilliant comebacks. Staying close to him for so many years, we have imbibed some of his good qualities.u00a0So, I feel if he could do it, why can’t I?” the off-spinner said.

Reminded about the comebacks following his performances for Surrey in 2005 and 2007, Harbhajan said: “On both the occasions, I was dropped from the national side, but thanks to a good show for Surrey, I made my way back into the national side. u00a0“I want to make this Essex stint a memorable one. I believe I still have a lot of cricket left in me.”u00a0
