PA Sport looks back at six of Swann’s greatest moments:

> Vs Aus, 2009 (Lord’s)
Swann stamped his authority on the Ashes at the home of cricket with four for 87 in the second innings of the second Test, including the key wicket of Michael Clarke for 136, to put England 1-0 up in the series.

> Vs Aus, 2009 (Oval)
England headed into the final match of the series needing a win to regain the Ashes. Swann took eight wickets in the match, including four for 38 in the first innings, and hit 63 in the second.

> Vs SA, 2009-10
He took 21 wickets, including nine in the victory at Durban, to prove he could be effective when conditions were not necessarily in his favour. He also scored a Test-best knock of 85 in the first match.

> Vs Pak, 2010
Swann returned Test-best figures of six for 65 in the second innings of the second Test, including two of his most memorable wickets, with huge turning off-breaks to bowl Azhar Ali and Imran Farhat.

> Vs Aus, 2010-11
The off-spinner helped pave the way for a famous 3-1 Ashes series win Down Under with five second-innings wickets in the second Test. He returned five for 91 to put England 1-0 ahead.u00a0
