Wait and watch, I'm strong enough: MS Dhoni after series defeat

His terrible overseas Test record as captain notwithstanding, India captain MS Dhoni indicates he won't quit; refuses to call the 3-1 defeat to England his darkest hour

London: Mahendra Singh Dhoni has not won an overseas Test series since the 2011 tour of the West Indies. Quite naturally then he was asked whether he would quit as Test captain after yesterday's innings and 244-run defeat to England here yesterday.

The captain put up a brave face and said, "If I am not strong enough, you will come to know. Wait and watch. I am strong enough."

Having said that, he didn't shy away from expressing his disappointment on his side's abject surrender to England, who won the Pataudi Trophy 3-1.

"I am very disappointed that we didn't well here," he stressed. "In 2011 when we didn't do well here, a lot of people told me to quit. I didn't."

When it came to terming this series defeat as the darkest hour of his captaincy, he refused to say so. "This is definitely not the lowest point of my (captaincy) career. In 2011, we had many senior players in the side and yet we lost here (0-4)," he said.

India were bowled out for for 94 in just 29.2 overs after England led by a massive 338 runs. Dhoni was dismissed by pacer Chris Woakes for a duck.
