Fardeen Khan on 'No Entry' sequel: All I would say is 'don't mess it up'

Fardeen Khan says his 2005 film "No Entry" is close to his heart and he hopes the upcoming sequel, which features a new cast, is as good as the original. Producer Boney Kapoor recently announced that the sequel is actively being developed and will feature Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Arjun Kapoor in lead roles. Anees Bazmee, who directed the first part starring Fardeen, Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor, is returning for the follow-up as well. "I've heard the script, it is absolutely hilarious. I think everyone tried hard to work out whether it was from Salman Khan or Boney Kapoor or Anees Bazmee... It's a film that's close to my heart," Fardeen told PTI. "Wish we could have been a part of it but it wasn't meant to be. So, these things happen. For Anees and Boney, I only have love and my best wishes on the sequel, all I would say is: 'Don't mess it up'," he added. The 50-year-old actor said he is looking forward to the sequel. "I don't know whether they're doing something different with the sequel but I'm pretty sure it will be close to what Anees had already written. I think it will be incredible. I wish them luck, love, I'm dying to see it when it comes out," he added. "No Entry" revolved around two married men (Fardeen and Anil), who find themselves in trouble because of their womanising friend, Prem (Salman). Lara Dutta, Esha Deol and Celina Jaitley played the female leads in the first part, with Bipasha Basu in an extended cameo. "No Entry 2" is expected to go on floors in December this year. Fardeen stars in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Heeramandi" and also has two films lined up for 2024 -- Akshay Kumar-led "Khel Khel Mein" and filmmaker Sanjay Gupta's home production, "Visfot", alongside Ritiesh Deshmukh. She elaborated on how it came as a shocker since she was already a part of the entertainment industry.  In an interview with Puja Talwar on her YouTube channel, Alaya shared, “There are some films where I had awful experiences on set. You are working with people who just don't care about you. They don't really have your best interest at heart. You have to fend for yourself. You have to handle situations in which you are not treated nicely. That, for me, was my biggest shock. Because it happened after I had been in the industry for a while, realising that it was also a part of the job did not feel very nice.”           View this post on Instagram                       A post shared by Alaya F (@alayaf) She added, “When you work on a film, you really want it to be a safe, happy productive environment. Sunidhi Chauhan reacts to being nearly hit by a bottle on stage - watch video

Shreyas Talpade

Shreyas Talpade wonders if his cardiac arrest is associated with covid vaccine

Actor Shreyas Talpade suffered a cardiac arrest last year. The actor now feels that his condition might be related to the Covid vaccine. The actor recently opened up about his heart attack and said that such incidents have been reported largely after the pandemic among the younger population.  Reports of people in their 30s and 40s suffering a heart attack have been on the rise since the pandemic. Talking about the same in an interview with Lehren Retro, Shreyas said, "I gave myself a big scare. It was unfortunate, unexpected. I believed I was taking care of my diet, exercise and health. Apparently there are theories about the vaccine as well… We have been hearing about people working out or playing and something happening, or a person who is taking care of himself and something happening". Talking about his health condition at the time of the heart attack, the actor said, "I don’t smoke, I am not a regular drinker. I drink perhaps once a month and within limits. My cholesterol was a little high, which I was told is normal these days. I was taking medication for that and it had come down reasonably. So, if I have none of the other factors, I have no diabetes, no blood pressure, then what could be the reason? We have been as careful as possible". Recalling the day he suffered the stroke, he said that he was shooting for the film 'Welcome To The Jungle'. He was performing an intense scene that involved him jumping in the water. “Suddenly, I felt breathless and my left hand started paining. I could barely walk to my vanity van and change my clothes,” he said. AstraZeneca, that developed the Covishield vaccine, which was widely administered in India, recently admitted in its court documents recently that the vaccine can cause rare side effects, including TTS — Thrombosis with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome — which causes people to have blood clots and a low blood platelet count. When asked if he thinks his heart attack might be related to the side effects of the vaccine, Shreyas said, “I would not negate the theory. It was only after the Covid vaccine that I started to experience some fatigue and tiredness. There has to be some amount of truth and we cannot negate the theory. It can be Covid or the vaccine, I don’t know which of the two, but it is associated (with my condition).” He added, “It is very unfortunate and scary because we genuinely don’t know what we have taken inside our bodies. We trusted the companies, went with the flow. I never heard of such incidents before Covid.” Shreyas said he wants to know more about the vaccine and how it has impacted humans. “I want to know what the vaccine has done to us. I am not sure whether it is Covid or the vaccine. Till I don’t have all the facts and proof, it is pointless to make any statements. Nevertheless, I want to know more,” he said.

Still from Barah By Barah

Geetika Vidya Ohlyan's Barah by Barah to hit screens on May 24

After spreading its wings over more than 40 coveted international film festivals, director Gaurav Madan's award-winning drama Barah by Barah, starring Geetika Vidya Ohlyan of School of Lies fame, is set for its home release. The film will arrive in theatres on May 24. Touted as one of the rare Indian films to be shot on 16mm film, Barah by Barah is set in the heart of Varanasi and offers a unique, striking perspective through the lens of the only living death photographer in the ancient city. It also stars actor Gyanendra Tripathi, known for his work in TVF's Half CA, Harish Khanna of 12th Fail fame, Bhumika Dube and Aksh Sinha among others. Barah by Barah marks the feature debut of Madan, who has also co-written the film with Sunny Lahiri. The film's origin lies in Madan's meeting with a real death photographer during a trip to Varanasi that made him see “immense cinematic potential” in the subject. The film is critically touted in festival circuits as an atmospheric, visually stunning and nuanced portrayal of ‘traditionality in conflict with modernity’. It had its World/India premiere at IFFK, Kerala and International premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival. It has won top awards at various film festivals including the FIPRESCI India (Grand Prix, Best Film), Pune International Film Festival (Best Director) and Diorama IFF (Best Indian Feature Film). "I hail from a small town called Jagadhri in Haryana. My parents had to let go of our ancestral home because the government decided to widen the adjacent highway. The house was razed in front of my eyes and we had to migrate to a drab housing colony. Now, the entire town looks listless, like a big city clone. Progress is vital, of course, but there's a part of me that misses the old town charm and sense of nostalgia. This film is a personal story, one I believe will resonate with anyone grappling with change, told through the lens of a novel protagonist” Madan said in a statement. For Lahiri, the film's journey from shooting, its festival premiere to now its theatrical release has been "challenging yet magical." "Balancing credibility and passion for storytelling, be it shooting on celluloid and on location amongst the rising tensions of cremation fires, smoke, mourners, all while navigating a resourceful production was a herculean task. The cast and crew's dedication, who poured their heart and might into this film, was truly inspiring. I am incredibly proud of the film and am thrilled to finally bring it to the theaters," he said. Barah by Barah is produced and presented by Jignesh Patel's Amdavaad Pictures, an acclaimed production house based out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The film will be theatrically released, pan-India by Shiladitya Bora's Platoon Distribution, which has previously worked on acclaimed films like National Award-winner Court, Sir, and Ghode Ko Jalebi Khilane Le Ja Riya Hoon.

ED files money laundering case against YouTuber Elvish Yadav

A money laundering case has been filed against Bigg Boss OTT winner and popular YouTuber, Elvish Yadav, for allegedly using snake venom at his parties. The Enforcement Directorate has taken action under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) based on the FIR and charge sheet filed by the Noida police against Elvish Yadav and others involved in the snake venom case. The Enforcement Directorate will probe the alleged financial transactions associated with the supply of snake venom at various locations including big hotels, clubs, resorts, and farmhouses in Delhi-NCR. Elvish will be soon questioned by the ED. In November last year, the PFA organization filed an FIR against six people including Elvish. The FIR was registered against six people including Elvish Yadav in Noida Sector 49 police station for allegedly supplying snake venom suspected to be used as a recreational drug at a rave party in Noida. The case was transferred from Noida's Sector 49 police station to Sector 20 police station on the orders of Gautam Buddha Nagar Police Commissioner Lakshmi Singh. He was arrested on March 17 by the police along with five others and all were charged under the Wildlife (Protection) Act and Section 120A (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. Elvish was granted bail by Gautam Buddha Nagar District Court five days after his arrest. Later, the police arrested two more suspects in the case who were identified as Ishwar and Vinay, both residents of Haryana and said to be known to Elvish. On April 6, the Noida police filed a chargesheet against popular YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav and seven others in connection with allegations ranging from snake smuggling to organizing rave parties. The 1200-page chargesheet stated that Elvish was in touch with snake charmers and that a poisonous snake and 20 millilitres of venom from the Krait species were also recovered from the location.
