Kingston: Pacer Jerome Taylor has announced his retirement from Test cricket after an injury-plagued 13-year first class career but will be available for selection in the shorter formats of the game.

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) said the 32-year-old gave a 'formal notification' of his decision prior to the announcement of the squad for the four-match Test rubber against India, starting on July 21.

Taylor, who took 130 wickets in 46 Tests, had made his international debut against Sri Lanka in 2003 and played his last international Test series against Australia this January.

The Jamaican had to spend almost five years out of the Test side between 2009 and 2014 due to injuries. His best bowling figures are 6/47 against Australia at Sabina Park in 2015.
