"I am very happy to get a bronze medal. This is memorable because I got it in a big event like the World Championship," said the 19-year-old, flanked by chief coach Pullela Gopichand, upon her return from Denmark.

'Could have done better'
Sindhu said she could have done better in the semi-finals but some simple errors cost her the match. "Everyone is telling me that I did not play my game in the semis.
Maybe, a little bit," she conceded. "My opponent Carolina Marin played well. I committed a few silly mistakes.
You can't play 100 per cent every day, things like this may happen sometimes. Overall, it was a good match, she really played well," Sindhu said.
