Uniform Civil Code Bill: CM Dhami leaves residence with Constitution

As the Uniform Civil Code Bill is to be tabled in the state legislative Assembly on February 06, Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami left from his residence in Dehradun with a copy of the Indian Constitution. CM Dhami will present the Uniform Civil Code Uttarakhand 2024 Bill in the State Assembly today. The bill will be tabled during the ongoing four-day special session of the assembly, which began on February 05. On February 04, the Uttarakhand Cabinet approved the final draft of the UCC, which proposes uniform civil laws for all communities in the state. When the bill becomes law, it will replace the personal religious laws that govern marriage, divorce, inheritance etc.

The people in power have been attacking the rights of the people of the country and the values of India. That’s why there is a need to start a new movement today. Today, for the selfishness of its power, the BJP is breaking the dignity of all the constitutional institutions from the Parliament.”
