Operation Kaveri: Over 500 Indian nationals brought back to India from Sudan

Under its evacuation mission 'Operation Kaveri ', India has set up a transit facility at Jeddah and all the Indians have been taken to the Saudi Arabian city after their evacuation from Sudan.The first batch of 278 Indians were evacuated by Indian Navy's frontline ship INS Sumedha on Tuesday. Hours later, the first C130J heavy-lift transport aircraft of the IAF landed at Port Sudan to bring back more Indians. It was followed by evacuation by another C130J. According to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, the first C-130J aircraft brought to Jeddah 121 passengers while the second plane evacuated 135.

Vishad also revealed how students are risking their lives to find drinking water, melting snow in plastic containers to make water for daily use and how education agents are helping them. He also explained why students wanted to stay back after the initial government advisory.

Gujarat floods: 1,355 people rescued, 7,286 evacuated so far, says NDRF DG

Giving details of the critical flood situations in Gujarat, Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Sanjay Kumar said over 1,355 people have been rescued and over 7,286 evacuated so far from the flood affected areas in Gujarat. Kumar added that medical kits and relief materials are also being distributed by the rescue team in Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Gujarat.
