PM Modi in Kashmir: PM Modi flags off Kashmir’s first electric train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation of multiple development projects worth over Rs 30,500 crore for J&K on February 20. The projects are related to several sectors, including health, education, rail, road, aviation, petroleum, and civic infrastructure, among others. Under the umbrella of several development projects, J&K is getting a bonanza of railway development projects. To enhance connectivity in J&K, PM Modi in Kashmir unveiled a new rail route on Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramula Rail Link Project (USBRL). The Rail route Banihal-Khari-Sumber-Sangaldan, covering a distance of 48 km has been gifted to J&K. Meanwhile, in a historic feat, Kashmir got its first Electric Train and train service is between Sangaldan station and Baramulla station. As per the PM’s office, the rail projects will improve connectivity, ensure environmental sustainability, and boost the overall economic development of the region.

Hanuman Flag Row: Congress vs BJP faceoff over the removal of Hanuman flag

A controversy has erupted in Karnataka’s Mandya district after the removal of Lord Hanuman flag by district administration. Hindu activists, BJP, JD(S) workers held massive protests in Keragodu village after the Hanuman flag was allegedly removed. Hanuman flag hoisted by Gram Panchayat Board on a 108-foot flagpole was brought down by district administration on Jan 28. Congress claimed that instead of Lord Hanuman’s flag, the national flag should have been hoisted. BJP-JD(S) held massive protests in the village and held a ‘padayatra’ from Keragodu village to District Collector’s office. Meanwhile, security has been heightened and Section 144 has been imposed in the village to maintain law and order after the Hanuman Flag Row. In Bengaluru, BJP workers were detained by Karnataka Police as they were protesting against the administration's actions. Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister, DK Shivakumar alleged BJP-JD(S) of doing politics over the incident.

President Droupadi Murmu was given the national salute by the President's Bodyguard at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan. French President Emmanuel Macron accompanied President Murmu. The Republic Day parade 2024 with 'Aavahan'. For the first time ever, the parade is being heralded by over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments. The parade commenced with the music of Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, etc. being played by these artists.

Cargo Ship Hijack: Visual emerge of the crew after successful rescue

“Bharat Mata Ki Jai” chants echoed on the cargo ship MV Lila Norfolk which was hijacked near the coast of Somalia. The Indian Navy was quick to respond and rescued all the crew members onboard including 15 Indians from the Cargo Ship Hijack. Assessing the situation in no time, INS Chennai warship was moved towards the hijacked cargo vessel on Jan 05. Also, continuous aerial recce of MV Lila Norfolk was undertaken by MQ9B (Sea Guardian), P8I and integral helicopters. The Indian Navy’s elite commando unit MARCOS reached the vessel and initiated its “sanitisation” process. The rescued crew members thanked the Indian Navy for a quick and timely assistance.

Cargo Ship Hijack: Indian Navy rescues crew from pirates

In a high voltage drama unfolding in the high seas, Indian Navy rescued all crew members from hijacked vessel MV Lila in Arabian Sea. The Liberian-flagged vessel was hijacked by pirates hijacked on Jan 04 near the coast of Somalia. Without wasting time, India strongly responded to the Cargo Ship Hijack and charged its mighty INS Chennai towards the hijacked vessel. On January 05, the Indian warship carrying lethal marine commandos reached MV Lila and issued the warning. The Indian Commandos boarded the hijacked vessel and immediately began the ‘sanitization’ work . Within no time, the MARCOS thwarted the prates and rescued all 21 crew, including 15 Indians. The Indian Navy has increased its surveillance of the Arabian Sea after a recent spate of attacks in the region. Earlier, in response to the situation, the Indian Navy launched a Maritime Patrol Aircraft for maritime security operations. The aircraft overflew the vessel on Friday morning and established contact with the vessel, ascertaining the safety of the crew. Meanwhile, the Indian Navy has already increased its surveillance of the Arabian Sea after a recent spate of attacks. Moreover, the Indian Defence Minister on Dec 26, openly said that “they will hunt down the culprits from the bottom of the sea.”

Cargo Ship Hijack: Cargo Ship with 15 Indians on board hijacked near Somalia

A cargo ship, ‘MV LILA NORFOLK’ with 15 Indians onboard was hijacked on Jan 04 near the coast of Somalia. The Indian Navy is closely watching the cargo ship and has rushed a warship towards it, military officials confirmed. The Indian Navy warship INS Chennai is moving towards the hijacked vessel to tackle the situation. The vessel had sent a message on UKMTO portal indicating the boarding of five to six unknown armed personnel in the evening on Jan 04. The Indian Navy launched a Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) for Maritime Security Operations to assist the vessel. The aircraft flew over the vessel on the early morning of Jan 05 and established contact with the vessel.

Amrit Bharat Train: PM Modi to flag off first Amrit Bharat train soon

With target of 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by 2047 underway, PM Modi is all set to flag-off Amrit Bharat Train. Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on December 25 visited New Delhi Railway station to inspect the newly built train. The Amrit Bharat Express train looks magnificent in the colour of orange and grey. Vaishnaw boarded the train and took stock of the advance technologies in the passenger vehicle. This comes when the government is already on a mission to run 4,500 Vande Bharat trains by 2047. Notably, both, Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains are part of PM Modi’s 'Make in India' Initiative.

Namo Bharat: PM Narendra Modi flags off India’s first regional RapidX train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor at Sahibabad RapidX Station, on October 20. He also flagged off the RapidX train - ‘Namo Bharat’, connecting Sahibabad to Duhai Depot, marking the launch of the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in India. The 17 Km priority section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor, will connect Sahibabad to 'Duhai Depot' with stations at Ghaziabad, Guldhar and Duhai on the way. The foundation stone for the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor was laid by the Prime Minister on 8th March 2019.
