Covid JN.1 variant: Jammu hospitals prepare to fight against new variant

As the Union Health Ministry has sounded a new alert for COVID-19, preparations to fight against the disease have been started in Jammu. In Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital, one of the major hospitals in the region, a COVID ward has been set up.  The centre has further directed the states to monitor the occurrence of the respiratory diseases district-wise. Corona cases have started increasing once again in India. Currently, the number of active Corona patients in the entire country has reached 2,311. Along with this, the threat of Covid JN.1 sub-variant is also being seen; its cases are being reported in the state of Kerala.

Spokesperson of IDF held a press conference and gave evidence of the Hamas’ involvement in the strike on the hospital. This blast was the bloodiest incident in Gaza since Israel launched a bombing campaign against Hamas in retaliation.

About 500 Palestinians were killed in a blast at a Gaza City hospital on October 17. The Israeli and Palestinian officials are blaming each other for the deadly hospital strike. Deadly blast at Gaza hospital has ignited protests in the West Bank and around the West Asia. The health authorities in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip said that an Israeli air strike caused the blast. Palestinian UN Ambassador Riyad Mansour, standing with Arab UN envoys, blamed Israel for the deadly attack. Meanwhile, Israel's military said that a failed rocket launch by the Islamic Jihad militant group hit Gaza hospital. Taking to platform X, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu held Islamic Jihad responsible for the “failed rocket launch”. This blast was the bloodiest incident in Gaza since Israel launched a bombing campaign against Hamas in retaliation.
