Munawar Faruqui arrest: Bigg Boss 17 winner detained after raid in hookah bar

Stand-up comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui is yet again in limelight. Let us tell you that the Bigg Boss 17 winner along with 13 other people were detained by Mumbai police on Mar 26. They were detained in a late-night raid from a hookah parlour in the Fort area in south Mumbai. Munawar was one of the popular contestants of the 17th season of the Bigg Boss house. According to the Mumbai Police, a case was registered against Faruqui and 13 more people. The raid, prompted by a tip-off received by the SS branch, targeted the hookah bar situated at Bora Bazar, falling within the jurisdiction of MRA Marg police station. After verifying that tobacco was being smoked, an offence was registered under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act However, the stand up comedian was later let off after the case was lodged. A police officer said that since it was a bailable offence, the accused were not imprisoned.

Stepwell Collapses In Indore Temple During Ram Navami Celebrations

Twelve people have died after more than 30 people fell into a stepwell at an Indore temple this morning. The roof of the well, which housed the shrine, had collapsed due to heavy footfall on the occasion of Ram Navami. Seventeen people have been rescued and many of them hospitalised as rescue work at Beleshwar Mahadev temple continues. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan earlier said all efforts are being made to rescue those who fell into the well.

The IMF sees India as a bright spot in the global economy. The World Bank says that India is in a better position to deal with global headwinds than many other countries,” said the PM.  Delegations from more than 65 countries are participating in the Global Investors Summit. More than 500 prominent industrialists in the country are also participating in the summit.
