Israel has put in a request with the UN Security Council to immediately convene a meeting to unequivocally condemn Iran. Soon after Israeli missiles hit the Iranian consulate in Syria, Iran vowed revenge on Israel. The attack claimed the lives of Iran’s top three Military Generals which added ‘fuel to the fire’ in the war in the Middle East. In a retaliatory move, Iran struck hundreds of UAVs, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles on Israeli soil. Israeli Envoy to UN Gilad Erdan demanded Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGP) to be designated as a “Terrorist Organisation”. Israel said that Iran poses a direct threat to international peace and violated the UN Charter. Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) 2019 has been finally implemented in India. The Union Home Ministry has notified rules for implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on March 11, days ahead of LS Polls 2024. Home Minister Amit Shah, on multiple occasions, said that CAA rules would be notified ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May. Union Rural Development Minister Giriraj Singh on December 11 appealed to Hindu brothers to consume Jhatka meat and stop the consumption of halal meat. Speaking to ANI, he said, “I have said that I respect my Muslim brothers. They are so committed to their religion that they only consume halal meat. To protect and respect your religion, I request my Hindu brothers to stop consuming halal meat and instead only consume jhatka meat.” While speaking over Union Minister Giriraj Singh's Jhatka Meat statement, Congress leader Udit Raj said that they just do Hindu-Muslim for vote bank and the Constitution gives freedom to eat and dress so people shouldn’t be listening to such advice.
