However, the Ministry of External Affairs has vehemently rejected the claims made by The Guardian in its report. Denying the allegations, Ministry of External Affairs called it a “false and malicious anti-India propaganda”. On Mar 04, 2019, PM Modi slammed Pakistan for its continuous cross-border terrorism and said, “Hum Ghar me Gush ke Marenge”. Defence Expert KP Fabian has rejected The Guardian’s report and echoed MEA’s statement. However, he said that The Guardian’s report will benefit the ruling BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

The State Department of the United States has issued a travel advisory for its citizens in or traveling to Pakistan. The US has advised its citizens to be vigilant ahead of Pakistan general elections 2024 scheduled for Feb 08. In the advisory, the State Department has highlighted potential disruptions and safety concerns during political activities of Pakistan Elections 2024. It also mentioned that in some instances, political activities in Pakistan have been targeted for violence.

While the ongoing India-Canada row has strained the relations between the two nations, a fresh threat by a Khalistani terrorist has once again escalated the tensions. Designated Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun has threatened to attack Air India flights from November 19. Pannun claimed that Air India flights won’t be allowed to operate on November 19. A video of Gurpatwant Pannun making these claims has been doing rounds on social Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is the chief of the banned outfit Sikhs For Justice. This is not the first time Gurpatwant Pannun has threatened India and its leaders. Earlier in September, Khalistani secessionists held a so-called 'Referendum' in Surrey, British Columbia. The Khalistan separation sentiment was fueled after Canadian PM Justin Trudeau voiced up for Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In June 2023, Nijjar, who was a Canadian citizen, was killed in Canada’s Surrey outside a Gurdwara. However, Canadian PM alleged that some Indian agents were involved in Nijjar’s killing.

Uttar Pradesh’s mafia-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed was convicted for the first time in a criminal career spanning 43 years. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment on March 28 by the Prayagraj Court. Within a month of the warning given by UP CM Yogi Adityanath, strict actions were taken against former Samajwadi Party MP Atiq Ahmed. While delivering speech at Assembly, CM Yogi on February 25 warned, “Mafiyaon ko mitti me mila denge”.
