Apple CEO Tim Cook denies resignation rumours, says “I didn’t say that”

Tim Cook has dismissed speculation about stepping down as CEO of Apple, calling such reports "a rumour" and reaffirming his commitment to leading the company, IANS reported.

In an interview with ABC News, Cook said he has no plans to slow down. "No, I did not say that. I have not said that. That is a rumour going around," he said, responding to reports suggesting he might step back from his role.

Cook, who has spent nearly three decades at Apple, said his connection with the company remains strong. "I love what I do deeply. I cannot imagine life without Apple," he added, IANS reported.

The remarks come as Apple approaches its 50th anniversary, with Cook reflecting on the company's influence across industries, including music, smartphones, creative tools and health technologies such as the Apple Watch.

Apple to invest USD 600 billion in the United States over four years

On expansion plans, Cook said Apple intends to invest USD 600 billion in the United States over the next four years. The investment will focus on boosting domestic manufacturing of key components, including iPhone glass and semiconductors, with output supporting global supply chains.

According to IANS, while addressing potential tariff refunds following a recent US Supreme Court ruling that found certain tariffs illegal, Cook said the company is closely monitoring developments and will decide its next steps based on the legal process.

Responding to criticism over his engagement with political leaders, Cook said his focus remains on policy rather than politics, adding that maintaining dialogue with decision-makers is essential for addressing business concerns.

On artificial intelligence, he described the technology as neutral, emphasising that its impact depends on how it is used. He highlighted Apple's approach of prioritising on-device data processing, supported by its Private Cloud Compute system for more complex tasks.

Marking the milestone, Cook said the company's journey began with a simple idea. "Fifty years ago, in a small garage, a big idea was born. Apple was founded on the belief that technology should be personal - a notion that changed everything," he said, the news agency reported.
