BharatFare
BharatFare, the WhatsApp-first travel-tech platform created by Delhi entrepreneur Aman Thakran, who hails from Bajitpur Thakran, Delhi, is accelerating its preparations for a full-scale launch aimed at simplifying flight bookings on the high-demand UK-India corridor. The platform is designed to deliver faster quotes, honest pricing, and reliable support directly through WhatsApp - a method that mirrors how NRIs and Indian families naturally communicate.
BharatFare operates through two registered entities, one in the UK and one in India - BharatFare Travel & Technologies Ltd (UK) and BharatFare Travel & Technologies Pvt Ltd (India). Both websites, bharatfare.com and bharatfare.co.uk, are already live with essential integrations, early flight APIs, and secure payment processing enabled for UK users.
Founder Aman Thakran shared that BharatFare was born from observing the real-world frustrations travellers face when booking UK-India flights.
"People regularly encounter unfair fare jumps, unexplained fees, and slow responses online. With BharatFare, we want to give travellers a cleaner, safer and faster booking experience using WhatsApp - something they already trust," said Aman Thakran.
WhatsApp-First Booking Model
BharatFare enables travellers to check fares, compare options, view final prices, and get human-backed support - all inside a simple WhatsApp chat. This removes the complexity of long checkout forms and multi-step websites, making it ideal for UK-based NRIs booking for family members in India.
The WhatsApp assistant is designed to respond quickly, giving users clarity without needing to browse multiple portals.
Transparent Fare System
According to Aman Thakran, BharatFare's core strength lies in transparency.
Each quote includes:
⢠Base Fare
⢠Taxes
⢠Payment Gateway Fees
⢠Service Fee (if applicable)
This ensures that travellers know exactly what they are paying before checkout, avoiding the sudden fare hikes that are common on many online travel agencies.
UK Outreach Through QR Codes
BharatFare is preparing to run a large QR-based outreach programme across major NRI hubs in the UK, including Southall, Wembley, Hounslow, Ilford, Slough, Harrow, and Leicester. These QR codes will instantly open the BharatFare WhatsApp assistant, allowing users to check fares within seconds.
The initiative will begin after the platform's upcoming technical stabilisation phase.
Technology & Infrastructure
BharatFare currently uses Amadeus for real-time flight search and availability. More API integrations are being planned to expand fare coverage and accuracy.
Stripe payments are active for UK customers, and the development teams in both countries are working on improving backend speed, uptime, and user experience.
The next 12-week development sprint will focus on:
⢠Faster API response
⢠Improved WhatsApp automation
⢠Better caching and load handling
⢠Enhanced UI/UX
Future Roadmap
Founder Aman Thakran revealed BharatFare's upcoming features, including:
⢠Price-drop alerts for popular UK-India routes
⢠Fare-trend insights for frequent travellers
⢠A loyalty and rewards programme
⢠Expansion into Europe, UAE and Southeast Asia
⢠A dedicated BharatFare mobile app
⢠Deeper WhatsApp automation for instant fare delivery
Long-term, BharatFare aims to become the most trusted, NRI-first travel platform for international flight bookings.
