Former Miss India, actor, producer, and global entertainment personality Manasvi Mamgai is launching SAMA (South Asians in Media and Arts Foundation), a nonprofit dedicated to creating opportunities for emerging South Asian storytellers, filmmakers, artists, musicians, and creative entrepreneurs through mentorship, education, grants, scholarships, and industry access.
Known for her work in Bollywood and Hollywood including Action Jackson, Disney Hotstar & Hulu's The Trial opposite Kajol, and her recent milestone as producer of her first Hollywood film starring Al Pacino and Katie Holmes that received blessings from Pope Leo, Mamgai is now expanding her impact beyond entertainment by investing in the next generation of creative talent.
Founded with the vision of bridging talent and opportunity, SAMA aims to support creatives across India and the global South Asian diaspora, with a focus on helping promising voices overcome barriers to access, mentorship, funding, and industry networks.
"As someone who came to the United States from India and built a career in entertainment, I've experienced firsthand how difficult it can be for creatives to break through without access to the right networks, mentorship, and financial support. Too often, extraordinary talent never gets the opportunity to fully realize its potential. SAMA was born from the belief that talent should never be limited by geography, background, or access," says Manasvi Mamgai, Founder and President of SAMA.
SAMA is supported by a distinguished group of advisors and industry leaders from India and Hollywood, including filmmaker Suparn Varma, director Anurag Kashyap, Oscar-winning producer Lawrence Bender, and attorney, CPA, and business leader Navneet Chugh, who serves on SAMA's board.
Beyond funding and mentorship, SAMA has also launched the SAMA Spotlight Series, a podcast featuring candid conversations with leading voices across the entertainment industry, sharing the experiences, challenges, and defining moments that shaped their careers.
The launch comes as Mamgai continues to strengthen her international profile. Through her production company, 32Red Entertainment, she recently produced her first Hollywood feature starring Al Pacino-a project that received a rare blessing from Pope Leo and generated international headlines.
With SAMA, Mamgai is building a long-term platform to help South Asian creatives develop sustainable careers while strengthening the creative bridge between India and the global entertainment industry.
