PBG Pune Jaguars made a bold statement of intent at the Butterfly Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Season 7 auction, locking in their biggest asset once again by retaining Diya Chitale as the highest-valued Indian player for the second consecutive year. Secured at 37.4 lakh tokens, Chitale continues to stand tall as one of the league's most dominant and dependable stars.
In a move that underlines both confidence and continuity, the Jaguars have once again built their campaign around Chitale's match-winning consistency. The franchise didn't stop there-backing their Indian ace with a sharp mix of global firepower and domestic depth.
Adding international edge to their lineup, Pune roped in France's Prithika Pavade and Egypt's Omar Assar, two proven names on the world stage. On the domestic front, the team strengthened its bench with the inclusion of Snehit SFR, Mudit Dani, and Sayanika Maji, ensuring a well-rounded squad capable of handling high-pressure matchups.
Speaking on the auction, UTT Co-Promoter Vita Dani highlighted the league's growing competitiveness, saying the team selections reflected a strong blend of international pedigree and emerging Indian talent.
Pune Jaguars' strategy was clear and aggressive-build around a battle-tested Indian core and surround it with players who bring tactical flexibility and global experience. Team owner Punit Balan reinforced this approach, emphasizing that Chitale remains central to the franchise's long-term vision and competitive ambitions.
With a settled core, explosive additions, and a clear game plan, Pune Jaguars head into Season 7 fully loaded and ready to challenge for top honours.
Butterfly UTT Season 7 will feature seven teams competing in a single round-robin format, with each team facing every other side once in the league stage. The top four teams will progress to the knockout rounds. The league will be broadcast on the JioStar Network and streamed live on JioHotstar.
