A major step forward for India's sovereign AI infrastructure landscape, SentraForge AI's proposed Rs 22,634 crore AI infrastructure project in Odisha has received approval from the High-Level Clearance Authority (HLCA), chaired by Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi.
At the centre of the project is a strategic partnership between SentraForge AI and GVPR Engineers Limited, with GVPR serving as the core equity backer, infrastructure co-promoter and foundational partner for the initiative.
The proposed project is being developed as next-generation sovereign AI compute infrastructure, designed to support high-density compute, AI workloads, and enterprise and institutional applications. The scale of the proposed investment reflects the growing infrastructure requirements emerging from India's expanding AI ecosystem.
GVPR Brings Infrastructure Scale to India's AI Ambitions
GVPR Engineers Limited brings significant infrastructure and execution capabilities to the project, with experience across large-scale power transmission, high-voltage substations and heavy civil engineering.
Its role extends beyond conventional infrastructure support. As a core equity backer and infrastructure co-promoter, GVPR is positioned as a foundational partner in the development and execution of the proposed AI infrastructure.
The partnership brings together two distinct capabilities: SentraForge AI's focus on sovereign AI technology and compute infrastructure, and GVPR's financial strength, infrastructure expertise and large-scale project execution capabilities.
Together, the companies aim to establish an integrated foundation for building sovereign AI infrastructure capable of supporting the next generation of AI workloads in India.
The development comes against the backdrop of Odisha's expanding technology and infrastructure investment pipeline. At its 46th HLCA meeting, the Odisha government cleared 27 projects representing a cumulative proposed investment of Rs 2,47,115.70 crore across 15 districts, with an employment potential of 50,162. Technology-led investments, including AI and data-centre infrastructure, formed a significant component of the approvals.
For SentraForge AI, the clearance represents an important transition from vision to execution as the company advances its plans for sovereign AI compute infrastructure with a focus on Indian ownership, governance and operational control.
