Dr Arunkumar S Haripad
Dr. Ambedkar Sahitya Shri National Award was presented to the writer Dr. Arunkumar S Haripad ,by National President Dr. S. P. Sumanakshar at the 40th National Conference of Bharatiya Dalit Sahitya Akademi. The award is in recognition of social service, work for the upliftment of the downtrodden and backward classes in India and abroad, and commendable service in the field of literature. The award consists of a memento, a citation and a cash award.
Enjoying life with art and literature Dr. Arun Kumar S, also known by the pen name Ezhuthalan, is a poet of the moment. Dr. Arun Kumar, an English lecturer in the Vocational Higher Secondary Department residing at Haripad, has devoted his life to literary work along with his teaching job. Dr. Arun Kumar has also written many poems in English. It is noteworthy that his poems and books in English have attracted attention among Malayalis around the world. No matter what subject, he will write poems in the spur of the moment.
Minister of education V. Sivankutti, came to release Dr. Arunkumar's poetry collection Nov , Nov was written to help the affected people of Wayanad during heavy rain.V Sivankutti honored Dr Arun during that occasion.
There are many teachers and organization workers who remember Dr Arun for his commitment to job. He is also the State President of Ee Yugam Literary Association And also works as the editor of Darpanam magazine. Many articles with social implications have also appeared in it. He is the District Executive Member of the half-century-old traditional literary and cultural organizations IPTA and Yuva Kala Sahiti.
Dr. Arunkumar has also written songs for the movie Argentina Che Salam, which will be released in April. Sahitya Sri National Award, KSTA Literary Award and literature award from Kerala kaumudi newspaper are the best ones he received.He has also received many awards, including the Kerala Kalidasan Award.,Kalasahiti award, Kunjikuttan Thampiran award and the like.His father, Sivashankara Pillai, was a teacher at Haripad Malayalam Govt. School. His mother was a chief medical officer. His wife, Lakshmi S, is a manager of South Indian Bank. His children are Ananthu and Parvati

Thrippakkudam railway cross road repaired
The members of Ea Yugam literary association led by Dr Arun Kumar protested demanding that the road inside the Trippakkudam railway crossing on the Harippad-Veeyapuram Edatva Link Highway be repaired and journey through that road made passable.
Dr S. Arunkumar was the chairman of protest. He collected the signatures of the passengers and submitted a petition to the concerned authorities through continuous efforts and with the support of MLA Haripad, his efforts came true and road was repaired for passengers to travel.
Approach road repaired
Due to the collapse of the approach road of the Thalavadi Government School Bridge, accidents were common as vehicles entering the bridge hit the concrete surface. The approach road was collapsing on the northern bank of the bridge in front of the Thalavadi Government Vocational Higher Secondary School. The approach road started collapsing after the last rain. This is the road that the public needs to reach the school, BRC, Thalavadi Sub Post Office, ration shop, temples and many other institutions. Two-wheelers, autos and cars often get into accidents due to the collapsed approach road. It was also common for vehicles to lose control and go backwards as they fall into the gutter.

Helping hand to flood affected area
His literary association IPTA Haripad unit raised funds and sent essential metrials heavy rain and landslide affected areas of Wayanad.
A walk to save Kopppara stream
A walk was organized from Danapadi to Karthikappally under the leadership of Dr Arun and social activists to clear the encroachments in the Koppara stream, restore the water flow, stop the dumping of waste and open the eyes of the authorities. It was a great success.
Veeyapuram-Kozhimukku road made passable
The collapsed and rubble-strewn section of the Veeyyapuram-Kozhimukku road has been made passable. The road was collapsed about 200 meters from Deshavardhini Library. More than half of the left side of the road had collapsed on a big bend. There was a high risk of danger, and no warning board was even put up here. After the writer Dr. Arunkumar S (Ezhuthalan) and 'Ee Yugavum' Ipta informed the authorities about this, the pothole on the road was filled and tarred and made passable.
