Indian textiles and traditional craftsmanship are central to fashion entrepreneur Apsara Jaiswal's creative vision. Recently crowned Mrs India USA Universe 2027 while representing Texas, Apsara hopes to use her growing international platform to highlight the work of artisans and introduce heritage-inspired design to wider audiences.

As founder of I Am Apsara by Apsara Jaiswal, she works across Indian ethnic wear, contemporary fusion designs, handloom traditions and bespoke creations. Her approach brings together traditional influences and modern styling, with an emphasis on the stories and skills behind the garments.

A distinctive element of the brand is Apsara's collaboration with artisans across 20 Indian states. Through these associations, she seeks to celebrate regional textiles, handloom techniques and craftsmanship passed down through generations. Her ambition is to help traditional Indian artistry find a visible place in contemporary global fashion.

Apsara's own professional journey has also involved reinvention. She is a Certified Cloud Architect and previously worked in information technology for a financial organisation. She holds a Master of Arts and a Master of Library Science degree and served for five years as Head Librarian at Rajasthan Dental College before pursuing fashion entrepreneurship.

Her designs and business journey have received recognition at fashion and pageant-related events. She received the Best Designer Award 2026 at Mrs Universe USA/MyDream Global, presented by filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar. At Texas Fashion Week/MyDream Global, she received the Businesswoman of the Year and Best Designer Award 2026, presented by actress Sunny Leone. Sunny Leone also served as the showstopper for her I Am Apsara fashion show.

The Mrs India USA Universe 2027 title gives Apsara another platform to connect cultural representation with women's empowerment. Alongside fashion, she runs the I Am Apsara Podcast, which shares the experiences of everyday women. Her message, "Every woman is an Apsara," reflects her aim to celebrate individuality while keeping Indian heritage at the heart of her work.
