Dr. Cyres K. Mehta.
Cyres K. Mehta, Director of Dr. Cyres K. Mehta's International Eye Centre and a leading Indian ophthalmologist, received the "Leading Eye Surgeon of Maharashtra" Award from Shri Prakashrao Abitkar, Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Maharashtra, and Ms. Shaina NC, spokesperson of Shiv Sena.
The award recognises Dr. Mehta's contribution to ophthalmology and his continued efforts in advancing eye care through clinical excellence, innovation and patient care.
Dr. Mehta's latest recognition adds to a series of national and international honours received over the years. He has been conferred the "International Hero of Indian Ophthalmology" Award by the All India Ophthalmological Society for five consecutive years. The award is presented to Indian ophthalmologists who have brought international recognition to the country and was conferred at the Society's annual conference, attended by delegates from over 20 countries and more than 23,000 participants.
Earlier, Dr. Mehta was also honoured with the Strampelli Medal, the highest recognition conferred by the Italian Society of Ophthalmologists, in recognition of his contributions to the field of ophthalmology.
