Ritu Sings
Singer-songwriter Ritu Sings has released her latest track "Sindoor", and it is already being hailed as a deeply emotional and empowering ode to womanhood. Inspired by Operation Sindoor, the song's music is produced by Abhijit Vaghani, and it honours the silent courage, sacrifice and emotional strength of women who stood at the heart of the tragedy and those who continue to embody resilience every day.
While sindoor has traditionally symbolised marital devotion, Ritu's interpretation in this song goes far beyond that. Through her soulful compositions, poetic writing, and heartfelt vocals, she redefines Sindoor as a symbol of Shakti, dignity, courage, love, and resilience -qualities that women embody.
Sharing the emotion behind creating the song, Ritu says, "When operation Sindoor was ongoing, I felt every emotion that the Pahalgam tragedy unfolded, maybe my DNA carries a strong patriotic sense as my father, grandfather, uncles and my Aunt, all have served the Indian defence forces."
"I felt every bit of trauma, pain that victim-women must've felt, and a deep compassion filled me up, which urged me to express all those emotions through this compelling narrative called Sindoor. I wrote SINDOOR to connect at a personal level with those families and to salute Bharat's spirit of compassion and warrior energy whenever the need arose," she added.
Ritu concluded by saying, "My feelings through Sindoor is my way of prayer for peace and Shakti that we all derive through this heart-to-heart connection."
Sindoor beautifully brings forth the power of feminine energy, the ability to nurture and heal, yet rise fiercely when needed. The song reminds listeners that behind every act of bravery lies a woman's silent emotional battle and her unshakeable spirit.
With Sindoor, Ritu Sings once again blends music with purpose, creating a track that uplifts, inspires and encourages women to see themselves as bearers of inner Shakti. The song is not just a tribute to those touched by Operation Sindoor, but to every woman who has ever fought an inner war with grace.
This is more than a song. It's a movement of acknowledgement, honour and empowerment for women across India.
