In a deeply respectful and devotional gesture, artist Saikat Sarkar, along with Urmila Barman, has humbly announced the offering of 30% of the total proceeds from the sale of their artwork series "Lord Shiva in Abstract Form" towards The Akshaya Patra Foundation, in support of its noble and selfless service to humanity.

This initiative is inspired by a sincere intention to align artistic expression with seva (selfless service) and a higher spiritual purpose. Through this offering, the artists seek to contribute towards the Foundation's impactful humanitarian efforts, particularly in the area of mid-day meal distribution, child nutrition, and education support, which continue to transform the lives of millions of children across India.

Speaking with humility on this offering, Saikat Sarkar shared:

"This is a small and heartfelt attempt to dedicate our work at the lotus feet of the Divine. If our art can serve even a fraction of the noble mission carried forward by The Akshaya Patra Foundation, we will consider it a true blessing."

Urmila Barman expressed:

"We feel truly honoured and grateful for this opportunity to offer a part of our creative journey in the service of humanity. This initiative is rooted in devotion, and we pray it contributes meaningfully to the sacred work being done."

The series "Lord Shiva in Abstract Form" reflects a contemporary spiritual interpretation of Lord Shiva, blending abstraction with devotion, and has been envisioned not only as an artistic exploration but also as a medium to inspire consciousness, reflection, and service.

About The Akshaya Patra Foundation:

The Akshaya Patra Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation headquartered in India, widely recognised for implementing the world's largest school meal programme. As a key partner of the Government of India's mid-day meal scheme, the Foundation serves nutritious meals to millions of children across multiple states every day, with the vision that "no child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger." Beyond meal distribution, the Foundation is also engaged in initiatives related to classroom education support, rural development, and social upliftment.

This association represents a meaningful confluence of art, spirituality, and service, where creativity transcends aesthetics to become a channel for giving back to society.

The artists extend their deepest respect and gratitude to The Akshaya Patra Foundation and seek continued blessings to carry forward this initiative in the true spirit of devotion and humility.
