Wow Venice
Nothing can be as beautiful as Mumbai when it pours. The greenery, the traffic, the couples on the beach and not to forget the flooded roads. Everytime the city gets drowned; mentally I get transported to other cities. On one typical rainy day in Mumbai, I let my imagination run wild and I mentally drifted away to the most romantic city in the world, Venice. It's the only city where they have canals instead of road and you can row your away around the city.

... a joy forever!
The whole city had a freshly washed look and since the only mode of transport was boats, going from one place to another was a sheer joy. The romance of manoeuvering a gondola, a flat-bottomed Venetian rowing boat, between buildings, with your loved one for company must be one helluva experience. There was something magical about the scenario. I seemed to be floating in a different universe of rains, with a passion that bordered on fever and I felt a shiver run through my body.

Monsoon mania
The next morning I saw my lady doctor waking me up with an injection. Ouch, that got me back to the real world! I realised that I was not in Venice but in Mumbai ufffd the roads were flooded because the drains were clogged with plastic, the city looked like Venice because there were no cars on the roads, instead their were life guard boats. The feverish passion within me was only Malaria that had been caused by the mosquitoes, and the frenzy was not romance but a symptom of high fever.u00a0 Oh well, it was a great memory nonetheless! But I really do love the monsoons in Mumbai and I make sure to come back to experience them from wherever I may be in the world. No place can be more beautiful than home!
