Dhobi Ghaat's railway shoot stalled

Post 26/11, railway officials have become stringent over giving producers permission to shoot in trains or on stations.

Kiran Rao's Dhobi Ghaat is facing problems since they are not getting permission to shoot in local trains and at a station.

A source reveals, "Kiran Rao's directorial venture Dhobi Ghaat is almost done except for one portion which is to be shot at a local railway station.

The movie has been shot mostly in Mumbai and now they need to shoot certain scenes in local trains.

They require a station and trains only for a day but are not able to get permission from the railway officials."

The source continues, "Kiran wanted to finish the film on time but it has already faced several hurdles along the way.

The 26/11 attacks delayed the film in a big way. Kiran is in a rush to finish the film and hence can't wait for the officials to give the permission. She just requires one day for the shoot and this issue is delaying the movie.

Since the movie's story revolves around the city, the shooting scene at the station is very essential for the storyline. One requited to shoot at various locations in Mumbai and a railway station is one of them."

Dhobi Ghaat is a docudrama. This film is being produced by her production house and is due to release in June.

The movie stars Pratiek Babbar, who plays an important role in the film. Aamir Khan does a cameo.

A source from the production house says, "We had kept multiple options to the shot and we have already completed principal photography of the film."
