Akshay Kumar has done several action sequences in Sajid Nadiadwala's Kambakkht Ishq directed by Sabbir Khan.

Coincidental

"A particular car action sequence in Kambakkht Ishq was shot on the sets of Fast And Furious 4. Not just that, the same cars used in the film, were used by Akshay in the sequence," informs the director.

"In fact, it was quite a scary sequence where two cars were blown up in the air with Akshay running in betweenu00a0the cars missing the actor by a split second."

The action scenes in KI are directed by Spiros Razzatos (Death Race, Vantage Point, Bad Boys 2). Incidentally Akki plays a stuntman in the film.

Touch-and-go

Adds Sabbir, "We shot at Universal Studios as they shoot big-budget movies. there. They even retain the sets as they are large and expensive.

The sequence we shot for had Akshay running between two cars that get blown up. We had to prepare and hold rehearsals for the shoot for weeks. It was touch and go and the cars could hit him."

Akshay had to clear tests and get licenses from the Universal Studious for every stunt he performed, informs Sabbir. "Akshay had to clear tests to do these stunts. Everything was clearly approved and licensed by Universal.

Also Universal has a rule that everything shot there has to be shown to them. So after I completed the film, I went to LA again to show them KI again.

They not only loved the film but gave a certificate of appreciation to Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer."

Sabbir is all praise for the Khiladi Kumar. "Akki is not scared at all but God gifted how else would he be able to perform such high-voltage stunts?

I think he meditates before such scenes because when he's on the sets he's calm and collected almost Zen-like. He would rehearse a lot and would be up at 5 am to train.

Akki's always thinking about the best possible way to do it. He never shows he's scared as he's leading the action."
