Unlike 3 Idiots, Chetan Bhagat will get a mention in the opening credits of 3 Mistakes Of My Life
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me goes the adage. And after the tamasha over the credit given to Chetan Bhagat in 3 Idiots (see box), the author is ensuring that his second tryst with Bollywood doesn't end up in controversy.
Rock On!! director Abhishek 'Gattu' Kapoor is busy with the pre-production work for his next, based on Chetan Bhagat's book 3 Mistakes Of My Life. The contract between the producers and the writer clearly states that credit will appear right at the beginning of the film.
Kapoor had a meeting with Bhagat last week. A source reveals, "Bhagat has been working very closely with Gattu on the script of the film. Unlike 3 Idiots, where he wasn't aware of the final draft, with 3 Mistakes, he's aware of every development."
An insider says, "It was decided that Chetan would get a credit right at the beginning of the film, and not in the end credits, "They still have to figure exactly what the credit will appear as. But it will definitely be prominent and upfront. The director has become very good friends with the author. They chat about movies and sports whenever they catch up."
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani confirms, "We are working on the script and Chetan will definitely get an upfront credit."
