Dharmendra and his two sons Sunny and Bobby saved director Samir Karnik Rs 10 lakh recently. The Deols were part of the cast and crew of Yamala Pagla Deewana who had gone to Patiala to shoot a song last week. The weather played spoilsport and a layer of fog covered the city. The shoot required 40 corps dancers who were scheduled to fly in from Mumbai. However, due to the fog, the dancers were unable to land on time.
Karnik was in a fix, wondering what to do, when Dharmendra stepped in. He suggested that they move to nearby Doraha where they were anyway scheduled to shoot some scenes and finish that work instead of doing the songs. Not shooting at all would have cost the team Rs 10 lakh, but Dharmendra's quick thinking saved the day. The Deols shot their scenes round-the-clock without any complaints.
