What's it about: Based on an old Japanese folk tale, the movie is the story of Goku (Justin Chatwin) who stays with his grandfather who gifts him a dragon ball on his 18th birthday.

Now he's set on a mission to find the other balls and along the way also defeat the evil Piccolo (James Marsters) who wants to rule over the world with his bad powers. Master Roshi (Chow Yun-Fat) who guides Goku, plays an important part along with Bulma (Emmy Rossum) in accomplishing the mission.

What's hot: There is zero scope for anything worth calling entertainment in this to-be Razzie nominated film.
What's not: It's hard to believe that such mediocre special effects were served in a year when SFX impressed and wowed us all the way.

There's too much talk and monologue in a film that promises action. Even when the punches and blows start coming in, you can tell that they've been choreographed badly. The cast sleepwalks their way halfway through the film. As the climax draws close you realise there are many unanswered questions the plot leaves exposed.

What to do: Give it a sure shot miss, catch the animated version instead. It has more life and colour to it.
