He might be chasing people in his upcoming flick, but that isn't how he has built a great physique. Like most actors, Anuuj Saxena takes his workouts very seriously, but he isn't obsessive about them. In fact, he enjoys taking a break from the gym when he is travelling. The actor and businessman shares his fitness secrets:
Weighty issue
I have always been into healthy eating and living, since a very young age. In college, I was heavily into weight lifting, but gave it up because I wanted to build a lean physique. Now, I workout in my personal gym with my
fitness trainer. I keep changing my regime ufffd working on one body part for about 15-20 days, then on two simultaneously, then maybe cardio. And if I may add, I am not so obsessive about my workouts that I would have my trainer travelling with me everywhere I go. I'm not such a big star!
Not a sport
In fact, I use my travel time to catch up on some much-needed rest. Since I'm not able to hit the gym most of the times, I go swimming whenever I can. I'm a complete water baby ufffd given a choice, I would want to eat, sleep and work in the pool. Even in Mumbai, I try to make time for swimming, but frankly I'm not too regular.
The gym is all that I have time for, considering that I spend about an hour-and-a-half there. I used to practise martial arts till about two years ago, but gave it up. I'm looking forward to getting back to it though. I'm not too much into sports. I broke my little finger the only time I played basket ball in school. Since then, I've stayed miles away from all forms of sports.
In good taste
I am particular about what I eat. Till about six months back, I had charted out my own diet plan, but I was stuck at 78 kgs and was ambitiously striving to touch 70kgs. That's when I roped in a dietician, and it worked. I now weigh 72 kgs and am very close to reaching my target. I follow a practical diet that keeps varying. It is easy to follow even when I am travelling. If I don't get chicken somewhere, I can order tofu and so on. I've been following the diet since April, except for the times when I cheat, of course. I have a weakness for sweets, so I can't help bending the rules sometimes!
