Flawless. But we've seen that. Now what?

Ambiguity shouldn't necessarily evoke negative connotations.

Ambiguity shouldn't necessarily evoke negative connotations. Especially not while watching a Rajesh Pratap Singh show, where his unspoken revolt against conformity lets the wearer manage the headache of figuring the nitty-gritties.

His all-black collection contained enough dressing options to differentiate a woman with substance from just another pretty face. He built content in meters of fabric and with the careful use of an anonymous face screen printed over garments, by employing his expert tailoring experience involving pin-tucks, shading, panelling and seamless stitching.

A true Indian and Rajasthani at that, Pratap has rarely allowed his clothes the luxury of skin show. Deft layering kept the company of solid coloured cropped pants with sporty details, high waisted wide-leg trousers, fitted shirts with Mandarin collars, biker jackets, Angarkha style jackets with overlapping collars, biker and Victorian tail jackets and geometry-defining dresses with bell sleeves.

It's against the laws to come away from a Pratap show without your jaw dropping in awe. But at the cost of being ostracised, we say that we were disappointed by his unwillingness to go beyond the pin-tucked sheer shirts and skirts, jackets with piping details and biker jackets.
