Going housefull

My ultimate dream is to make a movie that will bring the city to a halt. Everybody should take a day off to make a beeline for the tickets, says producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

The optimistic Sajid tells CS about working with his two close pals - Akshay Kumar and Salman Khan:

Beating the rest
The success of Housefull 2 has again proved that people visit theatres for pure entertainment. They want to beat the stress. We took the risk of releasing the film despite the ongoing cricket league and school exams. But Housefull 2 managed to beat the BO records of 3 idiots and My Name Is Khan in New Zealand.

The party that never happened
We gathered to plan for a big celebration of our success. All of us turned up; Akshay was there along with Riteish, all the four actresses, Chintuji (Rishi Kapoor) and Dabbooji (Randhir Kapoor). The meet went on for four hours, and we finalised the menu, venue and other things. But then finally, we cancelled the whole plan since we had been too stressed out from all the shooting and the promotions.

On my mind
I'm currently ideating on several projects. Kick will be entering the pre-production phase before the end of this year. Then, there is Judwaa 2 with Saif Ali Khan and I'll be working with Shahid Kapoor in another upcoming film. 2 States too will happen next year but nothing has been finalised yet.

By Salman, of Salman, for Salman
Whenever Salman and I work together, there are expectations to be fulfilled. Moreover, with his recent hits like Bodyguard and Dabangg, the benchmark is set way too high. Kick is a film by Salman, of Salman, for Salman. The entire film is created around his charismatic persona. We are trying to incorporate the little-known aspects of his personal life so that his fans can get a high out of it.

On his equation with Akshay and Salman
I know Akshay since our childhood days. In fact, we went to the same school. We literally started our careers around the same time. Salman, on the other hand, is like a family friend and a buddy. I share a very special and comfortable relationship with both of them. To me, it's a personal endeavour to see them do well on my production platform.
