The popular show will go on air after IPL 3 ends
After four successful seasons, Indian Idol will return to Sony Entertainment Television. The auditions will be held next month in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Registrations have already begun, but the show is expected to air only after Indian Premier League 3 ends in April-May. The IPL 3 matches too will be aired on Sony.
Meanwhile, producers Miditech have now made way for Wizcraft on Sony's insistence. Miditech had produced the first four seasons of Indian Idol.

American Idol
Indian Idol is based on the popular reality television competition, American Idol. The aim of the show is to find the best singer in the country through auditions. Viewers then vote for their favourites. It first aired in 2002 and is currently in its ninth season.
