Karan Johar teaches Melbourne to direct the 'big Bollywood dream'

Karan Johar is undeniably one of the most successful filmmakers in Bollywood. So, it's not surprising that he has been invited to deliver a masterclass at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM)

Karan Johar is undeniably one of the most successful filmmakers in Bollywood. So, it's not surprising that he has been invited to deliver a masterclass at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

While the festival will run from August 10 to 22, Johar's session is scheduled for August 13. A source informs mid-day, "Karan's theme for the session will be 'How to direct the big Bollywood dream'.

He will talk about his two-decade long career, the trappings of stardom, surviving in the industry and how to keep reinventing the tapestry to continually cater to the evolving audience. Hindi movie buffs across Australia are expected to attend it. KJo's movies have a large fan base, and many people are even travelling from New Zealand and Fiji islands to attend the session."

Festival director Mitu Bhowmick Lange says, "We are honoured to have Karan as a part of our festival. His masterclass will be one of the highlights of the festival."
