Kolkata-based Vizyon is not yet another design house trying to make some white noise about their brand. Their debut show was supplemented with adequate expertise in styling and silhouettes driven more by the fuel of tailoring than flashing us blind with embellishments. Run by husband-wife duo Shradha and Ayush Murarka, Vizyon showcased dressing options for the modern Indian woman who's fiercely committed to her gym membership.
At first glance, it seemed like swatches of fabric and leather had been blended to play with silhouettes. But a trained eye would have noticed the craft that went into designing the white corset dress in leather draped with silk and georgette secured by a knot detail, or the multi-layered one-shoulder bustier dress lined with crystal embroidery on the shoulder.
Vizyon holds the promise of providing red carpet sex appeal. Now if only Bollywood divas would look beyond noodle strap cholis and sheer saris.
