Designer duo Monapali showed off their new muse who inspired their collection at the 'Blender's Pride Punjab International Fashion Week 2010 in Association with Gitanjali Lifestyle'u00a0-- Nature.

The brides in the show were all draped in fabrics that drew from natural colours of birdsu00a0-- blues, greens, blacks and greys of the peacock, parrot and pigeon and brighter shades drawn from flowers and nature.

The colour accents were in pink and turquoise, while the entire ensemble displayed primary floral shades of red, white and beige.

Monapali's creations used handcrafted fabric created out of doris or cords in Madras silk and Banaras silk. Fabric woven in Kheem Khab, net and chiffon was used as a mesh at places, while in others, it was left loosely looped to create beautiful textures and a play of shadows.

Embellishing their glorious all-organic collection was Nakshatra jewellery, also inspired by another marvel of natureu00a0-- the constellations of stars.

Each piece is crafted around a unique set of floral designs, each being a stylised interpretation of the basic traditional 'kudajodi' which is believed to be auspicious and showers the wearer with blessings and good luck.
