Not Turquotte, Katrina Kaif's sister Isabelle sticks to the desi surname

Now that Katrina Kaif's sister Isabelle is the face of a cosmetic brand and is waiting to debut in Bollywood, all eyes are on her and her surname. She is referring to herself as Isabelle Kaif. Now that's a bit strange. When Kat began in Bollywood with Kaizad Gustad's Boom (2003), she was Katrina Turquotte.

The film's producer, Ayesha Shroff, rechristened her to give her a desi second name. As cricketer Mohammed Kaif was a big draw at that time, his last name was used. Ayesha had initially thought of Katrina Kazi as her screen name, but later did a rethink. The initial print material for Boom had Kat's name as Katrina Kazi, but that was passed off by as a printing error. But then in Bollywood, a known surname matters.
