After spending two weeks in Italy this summer, Sammeer and Palak Sheth headed to Toronto. A few days of retail therapy, and the couple set off for Muskoka with few of their friends from Canada for a leisure holiday. Realty entrepreneur and socialite, Sammeer recounts his leisure trip:
Grand place
The district of Muskoka is just 90 minutes drive north of Toronto. Muskoka is a scenic area covered with towering pines, beautiful aqua lakes, sparkling pink granite rocks, and picturesque waterfalls. Some of the rich and famous who have holiday homes here include names like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russel, Steven Spielberg, Cindy Crawford, Tom Hanks and many others.
Active holiday
We chose to stay at Rosseau, a JW Marriott property, which is situated on the famous Lake Rosseau. The property is very quaint and has a old world charm along with spa and other modern facilities. We indulged in a lot of water sport activities like sailing, canoeing and water skiing. But there are other options like kayaking, windsurfing, etc. We also took some nature trails, which was a great experience. There are many beautiful sprawling golf and country clubs offering many activities and it was fun to explore around. We also took time off to visit some museums.
Scrumptious affair
And, a good holiday is incomplete without great food. Fortunately, the three restaurants at our hotel offered such great cuisines that there was no need to venture outside. Breakfast used to be such an elaborate affair that we used to literally have a two hour leisurely breakfast and skip our lunch. Dinner times were magnificent with rich food.
