Through his soundtrack for Anurag Basu's next film, in which Ranbir plays a deaf and mute character
Ranbir Kapoor plays a deaf and mute person in Anurag Basu's next film, but he won't have to put his sign language skills to use, as he will have Pritam revealing his feelings through music. Anurag has decided that his film will have a musical score to express the hero's innermost feelings. And the job of creating this deep musical track has been entrusted to Pritam. No wonder, Pritam is worried about what is possibly the biggest challenge of his career. He claims it is even tougher than what he did for Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif starrer Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani.
Veteran music directors Laxmikant u2013Pyarelal had faced a similar challenge while composing for Sargam, where music was used to make the audience understand the emotions of Jaya Prada's deaf and mute character. Jaya Prada's co-star in the film had been Ranbir's father Rishi Kapoor.
Ranbir had learnt sign language when he had assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the making of Black.
